Your Total Guide To eating and drinking

Best Pubs in Bristol

Whether you're looking for a warm, cosy drink by the log fire in the cold months or a nice, relaxing beer in the garden in the warmer months, Bristol is home to many pubs you can really enjoy a drink at. Here we reel off what we believe to be the best pubs in town!

1. Bag O' Nails

Bag of Nails is not just any old pub, but it is known as Bristol's cat pub. This old fashioned, relaxing place is made even more relaxing with 15 cats and kittens, and lots of people travel from far and wide to see the spectacular sight. Besides this, they offer a great variety of ales and ciders and offer a very cosy atmosphere. Cats and beer, what's more to like?! However, if you dislike cats, this probably isn't the one for you!

Location: 141 St Georges Road, Hotwells, Bristol

2. The Cornubia

The Cornubia, one of Bristol's much loved ale houses, offers a fantastic range of real ales and ciders and is a small boozer with a large beer garden in former Georgian wigmaker's store. Built in 1775, there's lots of history and character. Keep an eye out for regular quiz nights, jazz nights and more and bring your dog along to the pub too as they are very dog friendly!

Location: 142 Temple St, Bristol BS1 6EN

3. The Beer Emporium

The Beer Emporium is a bar, restaurant and bottle shop selling award winning real ales and cider. It has been described as the best real ale provider in Bristol (and that definitely isn't an easy title to gain in this city!) so if real ale is your tipple, you won't want to miss out! The old and cosy feel to the place makes it a lovely relaxing venue to enjoy your drink in, and then you can buy your own from the shop once you've finished!

Location: 15 King St, Bristol BS1 4EF

4. The Spotted Cow

Despite being 200 years old, The Spotted Cow is a lovely contemporary pub and offers top quality food and drink. Their beer garden is something to be talked about - it is a hidden gem and the perfect suntrap for those who want to get away from the city life. The Spotted Cow also play great music and satisfy all tastes! 2017 Winner of the Best Pub at the Bristol Lifestyle Awards, it's certainly something special.

Location: 139 North Street, Bedminster, Bristol
