How to Make the Most of Summer in Bristol

The summer months are here, and with the glorious weather we're having - we all just want to be out enjoying it, right? Well, luckily for you, here in Bristol there are lots of ways you can make the most of the summer (when you're not at work of course!). Here, we give you the run down of ways you can make the most of summer in Bristol.

1. Visit the National Trust Properties

The National Trust spend their time preserving beautiful properties and estates around the UK, so that we can then enjoy them to their full potential! Luckily for you, Bristol has many National Trust treasures to enjoy. Whether it's learning the history of the great house at Tyntesfield, admiring the beautiful views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge at Leigh Woods, exploring the cute little houses at Blaise Hamlet or slightly further afield, taking in the breathtaking countryside at Cheddar Gorge, - there's something for everyone to enjoy, even the little ones. 2. Go for a walk!

Sometimes the simple things in life are the best. Going for a walk in the sunshine with family, friends, or even the dog, can boost your mood more than you'll realise - all that Vitamin D can do wonders! It's also a great way to spend time with the people you love. Bristol is home to many parks, harbour walks and open countryside so you'll never struggle for a new place to explore! However, just in case you are, here are 5 walks that we would recommend in Bristol

3. Al Fresco Dining

When the weather is treating you, you've got to treat yourself too. So whether that's enjoying some delicious pub grub in your favourite beer garden or a classy afternoon tea in a beautiful hotel garden, it's got to be done. The good weather doesn't come around too often anyway, does it?! This is a great way to spend time with family or friends too. If you're looking for outdoor eateries in Bristol, we can definitely help you out with our Al Fresco Dining Guide!

4. Picnics and BBQ's

What's better than enjoying the summer sun with a homemade picnic or homecooked BBQ? These are not only great ways of getting the family together, but they're very child friendly too as each person can just pick and choose what they want! Why not take a picnic along to Brandon Hill or buy a disposable BBQ and enjoy delicious food out in the open with a view at Ashton Court Estate? 5. Have a summer party!

What better time to organise a party than when the weather is on your side and you can spend it in the garden?! Get the drinks flowing, the music on, a paddling pool out (for the kids of course, but I'm sure the adults won't be able to stay away either!), some buffet food, and just have a great time!

6. Go shopping!

There's nothing better than a bit of retail therapy on a lovely day, because who wants to be running in and out of shops in the rain?! Bristol is home to many fantastic shopping centres, and a sunny day makes it much easier getting around and enjoying yourself. Take your pick from Cabot Circus, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol Shopping Quarter, and many more. There are lots of fantastic restaurants around too where you can enjoy your meal outside, so make the most of those too!
