Festival Beauty Tips

If you're living in a tent for four days it can be a little bit difficult to wake up looking fabulous - after all, you don't have fresh running water or your usual makeup kit. But by following our clever festival beauty tips, you'll still look & feel fabulous.

When you're planning on spending a weekend in a muddy field it can get a little tricky to keep up your daily beauty routine.

So here are a few tips in making sure you still look and feel your best while rocking it out with your besties!

1. Sun Protection

The weather forecast at festivals is normally so unpredictable, you never know whether to be prepared for a scorching weekend in the sweat dripping sun or a weekend in the pouring rain!

So make sure you pack for all seasons. SPF is an essential, even if rain is forecasted, as red, sore skin is not a good look and not a good feeling either!

2. Grime Removal

Make sure you take care when taking your makeup off after a long day at a festival because all that old, dirty makeup you leave on your face will soon build up and cause spots and blemishes, which you don't want!

So to ensure you can do this, make sure you take a pack of wet wipes with you to avoid any breakouts and perhaps don't wear as much makeup all together to prevent spots and the effort of taking it off, especially after drinking!

3. Skin SOS

If you're not maintaining a good skincare routine (and lets face it, who does at a festival), your skin can break out and you are going to need a quick remedy.

So how about purchasing the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Blemish Stick's, £6, the anti-bacterial properties within it not only treat spots, but can be used on insect bites and cuts.

4. Keep Germ Free

Festivals are fun but let's face it, they're not always the cleanest of environments. You want to pack a good anti bacterial hand gel when soap and water is scarce.

Boots Antibacterial Original Hand Wash, 75p, is always a good go to and not only you can use it, but your mates too.

5. Bling it Up

We all know that a festival is the perfect time to bling up your natural make up looks and go completely overboard! You want to be bold with makeupand play around with it a little more than you usually would.

Urban Decay's Heavy Metal Glitter Liners, £13 are great and can used as an eyeliner for a dramatic effect or dabbed over the eyelid as an eyeshadow. Or for a cheaper alternative you can se BH Cosmetics glitter liners whucg are £5 for the same look!

6. Party Lips

If you're a no fuss festival goer and would rather want to spend your time watching bands rather than putting on make up, try just wearing just a bright lipstick. It'll give you instant glamour for very little effort.

Our favourites are NYX (Around £5), Maybelline (Around £4) and Makeup Revolution (Around £2) which are all completely afforable and worthit!

7. Makeup Fixer

Whether the sun is shining or the rain is pelting down (highly likely!) your make up will need extra help to stay put.

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray (£8) and Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Herb and Rosewater (£8) are brilliant to set your make up and leave it looking flawless all day and night!

8. Hair Tricks

Treat yourself to a professional blow dry if you can before you go, as it'll keep your hair looking good longer. A great trick in keeping your hair from looking dull and greasy, is applying some dry shampoo!

This is an absolute god send at a festival for girls and boys! Our favourite is Batiste Dry Shampoo which is usually around £2/£3 and they alwso come in little travel size bottles especially for a festival.
