The mental health and wellbeing of our colleagues is hugely important to us at Mathias. We are supporting Mental Health Awareness Week and the Mental Health Foundation, and have a range of activities to raise awareness, including "Wear It Green Day" which is today! At Mathias we are very fortunate that our warehouse manager, Christine Chandler, is a fully qualified mental health first aider, a qualification that she gained in 2023. Christine has a deep understanding of mental health and is always on hand to help and provide assistance to any of our colleagues that are going through a difficult time. Thank you Christine for everything, not only for organising our activities this week, but for being so able and willing to help and support your colleagues all year round, it means a great deal to us all. #mentalhealth #mhfa #appreciation #awareness

At our monthly staff briefing yesterday, we celebrated the long service and commitment of one of our longest serving staff, and Mathias legend, Natasha Bamford!   Tash joined Mathias way back in 2003. Here are some events happening at the time: - Sales of DVD’s overtake VHS videos for the first time - Footballer Jude Bellingham was born - In Da Club was released by 50 Cent Tash described the interview process as "gruelling"! and joined us as an administrator, and within 2 years was promoted to Customer Account Manager. Another promotion followed, and for the last 10 years, in her current role as Sales Manager, Tash is heavily involved with our existing customers, as well as taking responsibility for generating and mobilising new contracts.   One of Tash’s key attributes is her unwavering positive and “get stuff done” attitude, which has enabled her to build lasting relationships with our customers and has had a huge influence on the entire team throughout her time with us. Jason and Adam fondly recalled many highlights over the last 21 years.   Tash, thank you so much for the loyalty, hard work, positivity and commitment you have shown over the last 21 years, and we look forward to the next 21!!   From us all at Mathias x

Our staff briefing yesterday was all about celebrating the achievements of our wonderful team, and one person in particular! Our directors recognised the loyalty and contribution of our logo team leader and second longest serving member of staff, Mike Budd, who will reach an incredible 23 years with us later this year. Mike joined way back in November 2000 at a pivotal time in the company’s history, as our family business was handed down a generation, and is pictured modelling The Bristol Port Company boilersuit with Alan, Barbara, Jason and Sarah for an article in the Bristol Evening Post & Press. Jason proudly highlighted a number of Mikes key attributes – loyalty, knowledge and “can do” attitude throughout Mikes 22 years of service, making him one of our most popular and respected members of staff. These days, Mike oversees the production and quality of our in-house heat seal transfer and embroidery departments. Thank you Mike, for your contribution to the business over the years, and we look forward to many more. #team #appreciation

Our Managing Director Jason Mathias has this morning successfully completed the EMCOR UK 3 peaks 24hr challenge in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, reaching the summit of Mount Snowden with just 5 minutes to spare!!
