Bristol is the fourth best city in the UK to live and work!
Bristol has been named the fourth best ‘city’ in the UK for work, rest and play according to new research by PwC (Price Waterhouse Cooper).
Their annual Good Growth For Cities report carries out market research with members of the public across 42 cities and large towns against ten indicators for economic wellbeing.
Bristol scored well in the latest report with Swindon getting eighth spot and Plymouth coming 15th.
The ten indicators of success are:
- Jobs
- Income
- Skills
- Health
- Housing
- Transport
- Income distribution
- Work life balance
- Business start ups
- Environment
Compared with the same report last year, Bristol ranked particularly highly when it came to transport, housing (owner/occupation), income distribution and environment.
The top spot overall went to Oxford with Reading and Southhampton coming in second and third. The most improved were Bradford, Liverpool and Norwich.
One of the report’s conclusions is that all sectors of an area must come together to build success.
“Achieving broad economic success means engaging with a broad range of organisations across a place, and beyond. This means investing in relationships and building collaborative ways of working, including with communities and people themselves.”
