Recipe: Halloween Cocktails by Turtle Bay

Any locals thinking of throwing a Halloween party this October will know they have to work the Halloween theme to the max! We're bringing you two ghoulish Halloween cocktail recipes direct from Turtle Bay to try at your Halloween House Party!

Drinks, not just food, must be ghoulishly gorgeous and Turtle Bay restaurant has created a couple of hauntingly good cocktail recipes to recreate in the comfort of one’s own home!  PLUS, they’ve given them all a Caribbean twist – bringing a laid back side to your spooky celebrations (putting the ahhhh into AGGGGHHHHHH!).

Famous for serving the best rum cocktails in town, Chris Nash-Jones, manager of Turtle Bay Bristol shares the secrets of the trade with two creepy Caribbean cocktails, created especially for the season and allowing your party to be a Halloween spooktacular!



Midouri Sours with Lychee & Blueberry Eyeballs. 

Sweet and sour is going to be the IN flavour combination of 2017 so get one step ahead and serve the perfect Midouri Sour with a Caribbean twist – this bright green cocktail is sure to send chills up the spines of all guests!

They’ve replaced the traditional whisky with dark Jamaican rum, and added eyeballs made from superfoods lychees and blueberries – making this a part of your 5 a day too! 

One spooky yet Island-worthy cocktail! 


All you need is (per cocktail): 

50ml Midori melon liqueur

25 ml Cockspur Rim 

25 ml sour mix (egg whites  + lemon) – optional for vegans! 

Dash of Sprite® soda

2 lychees

2 blueberries 

Dash of Grenadine




- Fill a highball glass with ice. 

- Pour a little grenadine into the hole that you’ll find in the centre of the lychees, then stick the blueberries into the hole. 

- Add the midori, sour mix to the glass and give a quick stir. 

- Top with a dash of Sprite.

- Place your lychee eye balls on top!




This rum based cocktail is set to put a fiendish spell on you and all your party guests and typifies the delicious taste of party filled Caribbean nights! 

1 1/2 parts Havana Club Anejo Blanco

3/4 parts lime juice

1/2 part simple syrup

1 part pineapple juice

1 tsp sweet ginger puree or ground fresh ginger

1/4 part egg white

Lime wedge for garnish



- Dry shake vigorously, add ice and shake again.  

- Strain onto fresh ice in a highball glass and garnish with a lime wedge


For those who’d prefer to take the Halloween party to the city centre, then Turtle Bay  on Broad Quay or on Cheltenham Road should be the first pit stop as they’re serving their famous Zombie cocktails as 241 ALL DAY on Saturday 29th October.
