Bristol Christmas Light Switch On Dates 2019

It’s time to start thinking about Christmas and what better way to begin Christmas 2019 than with a Festive Christmas Light Switch On. Here we have put together all the Christmas Light Switch On’s happening in and around Bristol so you can plan an evening of festive joy! Enjoy the market stalls, watch the lights switch on, see some famous faces and even some fireworks!

Bristol Shopping Quarter – Cabot Circus

Friday 8th November – from 5pm

Listen to some festive feel good tunes from the Heart Breakfast Team as the Christmas lights are switched on with a carnival extravaganza! 

 

The Big Clifton Christmas Tree Switch On – Clifton Village

Tuesday 12th November – from 6pm

Taking residence in the Mall Gardens for 8 weeks will be Norman the 50ft Norway Spruce which is the biggest Christmas Tree in the South West. You’ll hear carol singing, hear a short blessing by the Vicar of Christ Church Rev Paul Langham before the big switch on to fully illuminate the tree.

 

Wapping Wharf

Thursday 14th November – from 5pm

The cast of Tobacco Factory Theatre from Snow White will bring festive fun, music and fairy tale magic to Wapping Wharf!

 

Willow Brook Centre

Friday 15th November – from 5.30pm

There will be live music, a light show and fire act, fireworks and much more! Light switch on and fireworks will start at 7.30pm.

 

Yate Shopping Centre

Saturday 16th November – 11am-5pm

Enjoy a full day of fun with a wide variety of activities and entertainment, parades and ending with the big finale of the light switch on.

 

Portishead

Monday 25th November – from 6.15pm

Jemma Copper from the BBC will kick off the evening, a special guest to switch on the lights then followed by a fireworks display!

 

Weston-Super-Mare

Thursday 28th November – from 6pm

Lights will be switched on at 6pm and then at 8pm, the fireworks will follow!

 

The Nailsea Christmas Fayre and Light Switch on

Friday 29th November – from 2pm

Here you will find fun for the whole family! There is plenty of entertainment and shopping to be done at the Crown Glass Shopping Centre.

 

Keynsham Winter Festival

Friday 29th November – from 6pm

Watch the procession, visit the stalls, eat til you are too full to move and see the Christmas light switch on!

 

Clevedon Town Centre

Saturday 30th November – from 5pm

A real community effort for organisers, stall holders and attendees alike. Take the family down to Clevedon Town Centre Christmas Light Switch On, see what festive treats you can find and enjoy the lights switching on!

 

Chipping Sodbury Victorian Day

Saturday 7th December - 12-8pm

Choirs and bands will be playing, the hog roast will be cooking, market stalls filled with goodies whilst the streets are full of Christmas lights and trees, decorated by local schools and nursery groups.

 

Enchanted Christmas – Westonbirt

Friday 29th November (and other dates) – 4pm-9pm

Put the sparkle in your family Christmas and set out on the all-new Enchanted Woodland illuminated trail at Westonbirt Arboretum….

The fairies have been up to mischief at Westonbirt Arboretum this winter, casting spells over the trees to transform it into an Enchanted wood. Wind your way through the trees to discover an enchanted wonderland of light and magic, meeting woodland characters along the way.

With an all-new trail to explore, new light displays to discover and new magical characters to meet, this is Enchanted Christmas as you’ve never seen it before…
