Easy April Fools’ Day Pranks from Home

Every single year, this certain day comes around providing the perfect opportunity for those people out there to thrive and live out their comedy dreams! Here are a few easy April fools’ pranks to try at home while in lockdown with the people you live with and surely by now, you’re dying to do something to them!

1. Minty fresh Oreos

If you’ve got some Oreos in the cupboard, take a few out of the packet, then take them away from everyone and remove the white cream in the middle. Go upstairs and grab your tube of toothpaste and replace the cream with a minty fresh alternative! Then return them to the original packet and original place you found them and wait.

We guarantee whoever ends up picking these out the packet will get a surprise!

2. Newspaper in the office

We know this April fools’ day may be a little different being in lockdown and most of us working from home, so how about adding a little bit of excitement to that!

If you’ve got an office in your house that someone may be working in and lots of unused newspapers, get to work in covering every single thing in that office with newspaper! Make sure you give yourself enough time, like after they’ve gone to bed or before they get up to complete it and just wait for their reaction when they first enter the room!

3. Sticky notes

If you’ve got sticky notes lying around or ones you may not have used for exams etc. put them to good use now and choose any room in the house to cover in sticky notes.

So, if you choose the kitchen, put as many sticky notes around it as you can, making sure you do have enough to get the full effect!

4. The office Mouse

As many of you are working from home now, this is the perfect prank to pull!

If someone in your house uses a laptop with an attached mouse in their work, Sellotape the bottom of the mouse so that the optical sensor no longer works and watch them figure out why it doesn’t seem to be working!

5. Glitterbomb

Maybe its someone’s birthday or you just want to give someone in your family a card to brighten up their day during these hard times.

This is more for kids so get them making a nice card and then get them to add glitter inside the card and envelope it up, then just wait for the lucky person to open that surprise up!

6. Upside down

Wake up early on April fools’ day and go around the house and turn everything upside down!

7. Viral poo challenge

The viral challenge going around at the moment is where mums are pretending to be on the toilet and run out of toilet paper, so then go to ask the kids to bring them some and when the kids pass the toilet roll over to them, the mums or dads wipe a poo looking substance over them and you should see some of the kids’ faces!

This is a brilliant one to get your kids with and you just need either chocolate spread or peanut butter to be able to pull this prank off!

8. Cookies

Offer to make some cookies for everyone and let them know that they are going to be chocolate chip.

While making them switch the chocolate chips with either raisins or another fruit that may look exactly like the chocolate chips and once, they’re done let everyone try them and see what their reactions are!

9. Clingfilm

Take someone in your households shampoo or body wash bottle that you know they'll be using and undo the lid.

Take some clingfilm and cover the top of the bottle, where the liquids would usually come out of, and place the lid back on making sure there is no clingfilm showing. Then wait for that person to have a shower or bath and see their reaction when they're out!

10. ‘Custard Doughnuts’

Offer to make some doughnuts as we assure many of you will be looking for things to do during this lockdown.

While making them instead of injecting the doughnuts with custard use mayonnaise or salad cream, something that will resemble the custard. This is a brilliant way to catch out those in your family!
