Total Guide to Self Isolating for the Elderly: Life Under Lockdown Week 6

There is no way I could write The Blog this week without paying homage to Captain Tom Moore the 100 year old 2nd World War hero who, as I write, has raised over £26 million for NHS Charities. What an amazing humble man and congratulations to him reaching No 1 in the charts closely followed by the wonderful 103 year old Dame Vera Lynn.

My choice of song for this week is Queen's I Want To Break Free!

I have been busy proof reading content for Total Guide to Poole and am so proud that my daughter Liz Hutchings and her wonderful team launched this, their sixth Total Guide to site this week.

Thrilled to find the first crop of Jersey Royals in the shops this week; nothing beats lamb cutlets, peas and Jersey Royals smothered with mint and butter. I am salivating as I type this...yummy!

My granddaughter Florence has been constantly entertaining me via Skype this week. As she is only 2 and a half she cannot read but she picks up a book and 'reads' the stories to me by looking at the pictures. The other day she started 'reading' The Hungry Caterpillar to me and said the hungry caterpillar then ate a croissant'!  I think she was looking at a chrysalis!  Oh how I miss her!

I have written a Wish List for after lockdown :

  • Cuddle my Granddaughter
  • Hug my son, daughter , daughter in law and son in law.
  • Drive with them all to a lovely pub for Sunday Lunch
  • Get my Hi-Lites done
  • Get my hair cut
  • Get my eyebrows done
  • Book a holiday
  • Have coffee and a gossip with my girlfriends.

What would your Wish List be?

Well another week has gone by and let's hope we are another week closer to normality.

Take care and stay safe and well,

Patricia Ledger
