The Best Ways to Refresh Your Home for Spring

Spring is definitely upon us. With spring often comes the desire to make some changes at home, to refresh things and make them brighter, ready to welcome in the nicer weather. Whether you’re looking to make huge changes, or you’re working on a budget, here are some great ways to refresh your home this spring time.

Spring Clean

Spring is a time for celebrating new life, eating chocolate, and giving our homes a good, top to bottom clean. Work round one room at a time. Start at the top and work your way down. Clean everything. From the normal every day tidying jobs, to the things you only do once a year. Use this as a good chance to declutter too. While you’re going through everything cleaning, throw out anything you don’t need. This is a tough task, but you’ll feel much better for it.

Painting is a brilliant way to refresh a room without having to make huge changes. Even if you’re sticking to the same colour, or just changing by a shade or two, a fresh coat of paint makes everything look cleaner and brighter. If you fancy a bigger change, consider adding a brighter, or patterned feature wall, which can breathe new life in to old décor.

Replace Your Furniture

Cleaning and decorating are great. But, spring is also a fantastic time to look at replacing any old furniture. If you want to add some luxury to your bedroom, go for some quality wooden bedroom furniture from Revival Beds.

Have a Move Around

If you don’t want to buy new furniture, have a move around instead. To optimise space, move furniture to the edges of rooms. To create a more social atmosphere, have seating face each other instead of the TV. To create a relaxing space, surround yourself with books and art. You’ll be amazed at how different your rooms can look by just moving a few key pieces.

Open Your Windows

Throwing your windows open to let the fresh spring time air in will make your home smell fresher, and improve your mood. Make sure you open your curtains first thing in the morning, too, to make the most of the gorgeous natural light.

Add Some Fresh Flowers

Open windows and fresh flowers evokes springtime. Go for bright colours and flowers with a gentle aroma for a real spring vibe. Sunflowers, lilies and tulips make great options.

Changing your accessories is an easy, cost effective way to refresh your home. Put any dark, wintery cushions, pictures, ornaments and other home accessories away until next winter. Replace them with bright springtime shades such as yellow, dove grey, and teal in lighter materials. You could even use a throw or cover to give your sofa new life.

Spring is the ideal time to make some changes around the home. Your mood is lifting after a dull winter and you want your home to match. So, throw open the windows and start thinking about what you want to change.
