Vegfest Returns for Another Year
Sumptuous vegan cuisine and cookery demos await at VegfestUK Bristol.
Amidst the sun-bathed outdoor setting of the Amphitheatre on the Bristol Harbourside returns one of Europe's biggest vegan festivals VegfestUK on May 21st 22nd. Amongst many standout features at VegfestUK events is definitely the joyous and sumptuous vegan food, which provides a fantastic advert for veganism to everyone.
Around 15 globally inspired caterers will be a big draw for an expected 15,000 strong crowd over the whole weekend – they will be serving a wide range of globally inspired cuisines ranging from sushis, paella, Chinese stir-fries and barbecues, falafel wraps, crêpes, to Caribbean stews, pizzas, Moroccan street food, Thai curries, burgers, chips, Indian food and “fish” and chips. These come on top of 5 licensed bars, juice and smoothie bars, chai teas, coffee and other drinks. All food and drinks are 100% vegan.
You can enjoy all the eating and drinking whilst perusing other vegan food ingredients, merchandise and information from 180 stalls during the day (before 6pm), and pick up tips on creating amazing vegan plates to impress your pals from a dozen of cookery demos by some inventive chefs. Other daytime activities include talks on vegan nutrition, lifestyle, campaigns, a kids area, a Last Man Standing dance mat, a series of workshops on vegan activism, plus acoustic music from 2 stages.
When the evenings come, a selection of headline DJ's grace the Main Stage. Marshall Jefferson headlines the Saturday house party supported by live sets from Alison Limerick (whose chart hits include the classic Where Love Lives) and Adamski (who scores an unforgettable no. 1 with Killer in 1990). And on Sunday, hip hop/electronic dance group Stereo MC’s and vegan reggae artist Macka B headline the Main Stage with support local artist in the shape of Andy Compton featuring Celestine and Sabrina Chyld.
