The NSBRC Guide to Project Management

A one-day project management training course at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre, covering sequencing, budgeting, trades, procurement, and site management for homebuilding projects.

A classroom-based one-day course for anyone embarking on a first homebuilding project.

Led by architect and construction project manager Lucy Nylander, the day provides an introduction to the fundamentals of project management, including build sequencing and management options.

Topics include:

• Project management basics (sequencing, options, build routes, programme management)
• Budgeting (controlling expenditure, insurances & warranties, VAT reclaim)
• Trades and materials (sourcing trades, pricing, contract options, sourcing materials, quality control)
• Site preparation and set up (health & safety, avoiding pitfalls, completion)
