See the Future at VR World Congress

Virtual Reality (VR) broke through the tech market in 2016 with technology giants like Samsung, Facebook and Sony launching their headsets worldwide. With a market anticipated to be worth £30 billion by 2020 things are looking very exciting for the VR industry.

Originally viewed as a technology for gamers VR is moving beyond the world of gaming and into new everyday consumer use. Opportunities for VR application go way beyond its traditional field of entertainment into health, medicine, education, science, manufacturing, architecture, and engineering.

Increasingly virtual reality is changing our everyday lives from training healthcare professionals in medical procedures to helping architects reduce environmental impact in building design and planning cities of the future.

Bristol, recognised as the UK and Europe’s VR hub, will be hosting the third VR World Congress  from 11 to 13 April 2017. An industry-leading VR conference, expo and matchmaking event taking place over 3 days, it has an exceptional line-up of world-class speakers and exhibitors.  The event is centred around Millennium Square with @Bristol and the Watershed hosting talks and meetings.
With over 2000 attendees expected to attend, VR World Congress aims at bringing together stakeholders from all backgrounds, from R&D and start-ups working on new developments in the industry, to stakeholders from various sectors looking for new solutions and opportunities.

The first day of the event - 11th April – will be a great day for networking. Enterprise Europe Network South West will be running the VR World Congress Matchmaking Event - a fantastic opportunity to connect with key players in VR and surrounding industries. This day is specifically designed to give attendees an opportunity to meet, share and discover.

Chris Lyons, Enterprise Europe Network commented:
“VR World Congress is all about opportunity.  We are connecting with disruptive, leading edge and innovative VR companies & research organisations across multiple sectors locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.  We are very much looking forward to facilitating new introductions and collaboration here in Bristol.”

Dan Page,  VR World Congress Creative Director said:
"VR World Congress 2017 is a landmark event for both Bristol and the VR industry. After the success of 2016's event, we couldn't be happier to be teaming up with EEN once again to host The VR World Congress Matchmaking Event on April 11th.

“VRWC is all about delegates from across the world meeting and creating exciting new ventures and ideas. We feel this is an integral element to the continued success of the global VR industry and the tech sector here in the South West."
