Senior Schools’ Art Exhibition at Bristol Cathedral
The annual Senior Schools’ Art Exhibition make its return to Bristol Cathedral on the 10th February. It will run until the 24th February and will showcase artwork from students throughout Bristol.
This year’s exhibition promises to be one of the biggest yet, with art on show in the Nave
Aisles from 20 different Bristol schools. A special prize-giving ceremony will be held at
6.15pm on Tuesday 24th February, in which Lady Mayoress, Sarah Watson, will be awarding
prizes for the best artwork from each school and crowning an overall winner.
“The artwork is always of a very high standard and I would encourage children and their families to
come and be inspired by this special exhibition.” Frances Taylor, Education Officer at Bristol
Cathedral.
The exhibition, a staple in the Bristol calendar for over a decade, is kindly supported by the Bristol Savages. Founded in 1904, the Bristol Savages is a society concerned with the pursuit of the Fine
Arts, Painting, Music, Poetry, other Performing Arts and Good Fellowship.
Pat Shipsides, the Preseident of Bristol Savages said: "Bristol Savages has sponsored the Senior Schools' Art Exhibition at Bristol Cathedral for many years. It is a wonderful opportunity to encourage art among students in the Bristol area as well as to support the talents of our younger citizens generally."
Admire the creativity of Bristol's young people in this magnificent setting. All are
