Women's Autumn/Winter Fashion '14

Fashion blogger, and all round style guru, Amie Kewley of Credit Crunch Chic gives us her low-down on perfect dressing for the Autumn Winter months...

It's difficult to think too much about dressing for winter when the weather really hasn't been that cold yet. With that in mind, I thought I'd put together a mood board of pieces that work equally well together as they will with other elements in your wardrobe.

A key piece for the season is the jumpsuit, and the point of difference of this Monki one is the cut -with a slightly cropped, insouciant style and drapey fit. This will work just as well with ankle boots, or converse for day, as it will with a heel for a night out. A jumpsuit is a great, instant outfit piece and this one is a real no-brainer buy at £40, which will work hard for you the whole season through.

Personally, I would team it with an ankle boot and this 'classic with a twist' pair by Betty London, (available on Spartoo), are my favourites of the season so far. I love the croc texture and the dark brown colour which is a nice step away from black- I'm pretty sure everyone has a staple pair of black ankle boots but these are a little bit different and a whole lot of fun. As for accessories, a statement piece like the jumpsuit needs very little added but any accessories should be hard-working. A simple scarf like this one from Topshop is an easy way to add warmth and a neutral tone like this one will ensure versatility. Likewise, a thick cuff will add an urban look to your daywear but make a little black dress edgy and elegant in the evening. Simple gold studs are a mainstay and will just work with everything you own.

Finally, I have also chosen a boxy satchel to complement the look. I love the gold hardware and top handle on this one, which will look as great with skinnies and a boyfriend tee as it will with a dressier look such as this one.

Key pieces are the cornerstones of any transitional wardrobe, and if you choose them well and allow them to fit in to your own style they will work hard for their place in your everyday outfits.
