Women's Christmas Party Looks 2013

Whether you're hitting the town or attending a more formal affair, you've got no excuse not to be the best dressed girl at this season's parties! Check out Stephanie Large's picks for the best dresses to wear to every type of gathering. Plus if that wasn't enough beauty guru Emily Griffin runs down the best beauty buys for each outfit:

Outfit One

I think it has got to be said that not everyone likes to wear a dress to their Christmas party. Having alternatives can be a little hard at times, but Topshop and their Jumpsuits are making it a lot easier this year. They have some amazing styles and colours, allowing you to change up the normal “pretty dress” with something hugely fashionable and different. The colour works amazingly with black, it makes it stand out even more and so the boots and fur shawl all fit so well together. I’ve added the sparkly clutch for good measure, as it’s Christmas, after all!

For Stephanie’s first choice, an electric blue statement jump suit, I have teamed up some great products to produce a sharp and glamorous look. This look focuses on statement red lips and sleek black eyeliner. If you have small or thin lips opt for a softer shade of red - as softer colours can make your lips look plumper.

Kate Moss for Rimmel lipstick in shade 5 - £5.49 | Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara Black - £10.99 | Benefit Bag Girl Black Eyeliner - £15.00 | Marks and Spencer Autograph blusher in Apricot - £7 | Essie Nail colour in Fish Net Stockings - £7.99

Outfit Two

I really love this outfit, it’s so fun and easy. Probably a little more youthful with the sequin short dress, but the shoes and clutch would work well with others too. I love the pastel colour of the dress, with the freshness of the bright white. It would be the perfect outfit for an ice party.

To compliment Stephanie’s second look, a beautiful powder blue dress with snowy white accessories, I’ve put together some products for a soft and girly makeup look. I’ve chosen pale candy pink for the lips and cheeks, and festive silver eye shadow to complete that party feel. You can dress down the look by using the eye shadow as a liner instead of colouring the entire lid.

Revlon ColourStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Front Row - £8.99 | Maybelline One by One Mascara Slim Black - £8.49 | Nail Effects Silver Foil £3.99 | L'Oreal Paris Infallible Eyeshadow Flashback Silver 15 - £6.99 | Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush Rose Pompon - £7.99

Outfit Three

It wouldn’t be Christmas with a bit of gorgeous glam. We all like to get dressed up and feel special, and this outfit does just that. The dress is just perfect, without making you feel like you’ve gone over the top. That’s where the accessories come in; the hair jewellery and bag go so well, fitting in the glamour of the flapper style. If you’re not used to wearing heels then these are the perfect option, you’ll feel safe and secure with the ankle strap and platform, whilst looking mighty beautiful.

Stephanie’s final look is very red carpet - with a beautifully intricate full length black dress. As this dress is so detailed, I have chosen a more classic beauty look. These products will help you create the typical red carpet makeup look. I have chosen a natural glossy lip gloss, a soft-bown smokey eye palette, and bold false lashes. To add a festive twist I have chosen a metallic gold nail polish to complete the look. For bolder stronger eyes, try using black and grey eye shows to produce a more dramatic eye.

Bourjois Smokey Eyes Mordore Chic - £7.99 | Rimmel Vinyl Gloss Lip Gloss Take a Chance - £4.99 | Bourjois Lashes Extreme Volume Lash - £4.39 | Sleek Shimmer Blush Pomegranate - £4.49 Models Own Nail Polish Gold Rush - £5.00
