Don Quixote (Is a Very Big Book)

A one-man theatre show blending puppetry and clowning, as Dik Downey’s mid-life crisis collides with Don Quixote’s delusions.

Don Quixote (is a very big book)

Opposable Thumb Theatre and Nordland Visual Theatre present a new one man show in which Dik Downey’s mid-life crisis smashes headlong into Don Quixote’s delusions.

With a rogue’s gallery of puppets and desperate clowning, Dik attempts to retell the huge novel for a contemporary audience, while confronting time, relevance and mortality.

Written and devised by Emma Williams, Dik Downey and Chris Collier, this international co-production mixes laugh-out-loud comedy with reflections on growing old.
