Snapped: Banksy's Dismaland
This year popular artist Banksy opened the doors to his Dismaland. The temporary bemusement park portrays a sinister twist on Disneyland, and has welcomed crowds of thousands in recent weeks. With several new pieces of original Banksy artwork, the exhibition was funded by the elusive artist himself.
Dismaland is a temporary art project constructed in the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare. Created in secret, the pop-up exhibition is situated at the Tropicana, a disused lido, and is deemed "a sinister twist on Disneyland" that opened toward the end of August 2015. Banksy has described it as a "family theme park unsuitable for children."
Banksy himself funded the entire construction of the exhibition, and included 58 other artists in the exhibition.
