Snapped: Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2014

From the 7th to the 10th of August, Bristol played its famous annual balloon extravaganza, the Bristol Balloon Fiesta. TGtB was there to savour the sights and the sounds that this year's festival offered...

Bristol's Balloon Fiesta has a habit of being one of the stand-out events on Bristol's calendar, and this year's one was no exception. Not only showcasing the awe-inspiring sights of the famous hot air balloons, but also a vast array of entertainments, exhibitions and traders, such as the exhilarating RAF Typhoon display team, and Wessex Garage's showcase of new Nissans including the GTR and the 370Z, meaning the plane-spotters and petrol-heads didn't get bored, and also the bandstand, which hosted an array of various different artists that will appeal to an array of different music tastes.

Festival goers and balloon pilots again displayed that Great British tenacity by defying the less-than-pleasant weather that affected most of the UK by turning up in droves and putting on good show, despite having to cancel the mass launch, which made the Balloon Fiesta 2014 another one to remember.
