The Umbrella Man and Other Stories

A one-man storytelling show by Martin Fitzgerald offering a fresh, humane perspective on the JFK assassination through the lives of ordinary bystanders.

Fresh from a successful run at the 2026 Edinburgh Fringe, Martin Fitzgerald brings his one-man storytelling show The Umbrella Man and Other Stories on tour.

Based on Fitzgerald’s critically acclaimed book, the show offers a fresh perspective on the JFK assassination by focusing on the ordinary people caught up in the most scrutinised six seconds of the twentieth century—accidental bystanders whose lives were changed forever.

Combining humour, meticulous research and impeccable storytelling, this gripping show guides audiences through Dealey Plaza and into the shoes of those present in 1963.
