Flat Iron Arrives in Bristol… With a Huge Free Steak Giveaway!
Bristol foodies are in for a treat this December as Flat Iron, one of the UK’s most popular affordable steak restaurants, opens its brand-new home on Clare Street. And to celebrate its arrival in the city, the team is giving away 300 free Wagyu steaks during opening week.
Flat Iron Bristol officially opens at 12pm on Friday 5 December, but the celebrations start early.
On Thursday 4 December from 5pm, the restaurant will host a walk-ins only, first-come-first-served giveaway of 300 Wagyu steaks. Once they’re gone, they’re gone, so locals keen to try one of the restaurant’s most sought-after cuts will want to get there early.
This giveaway also marks the moment bookings open for the new Bristol restaurant, which is expected to attract strong interest from local diners.
What’s on the Bristol Flat Iron Menu?
The star of the show is, of course, the restaurant’s signature Flat Iron steak. This cut, taken from the feather blade, is known for being exceptionally tender, juicy and bursting with flavour when expertly seam-butchered.
Alongside the hero dish, the Bristol restaurant will offer a range of blackboard specials, including:
• Wagyu steak of the day
• Green chilli cheeseburger made using beef from Flat Iron’s own herd in Thirsk, Yorkshire
Popular sides will also be on the menu, such as:
• Beef dripping chips
• Creamed spinach
• Truffled macaroni cheese
• Crispy bone marrow mash
The drinks list includes a curated selection of wines (including Flat Iron’s own Malbec), cocktails, fizz, draught beer, and limited-release specials like a 2023 St Émilion and Magazine Cover pale ale from DEYA.
A New Chapter for Clare Street
The new 100-cover steakhouse takes over the space formerly home to Four Wise Monkeys. Staying true to Flat Iron’s signature style, the Bristol restaurant has been designed to celebrate the original character of the historic building. Expect reclaimed materials, oak panelling, vintage furniture, and warm textures throughout.
A central oak bar, atmospheric lighting, and lush greenery will give the space a relaxed, welcoming feel, perfect for cosy dinners, weekend catch-ups, and pre-theatre dining in the heart of the city.
Flat Iron Expands Beyond London
Founded in 2012, Flat Iron has grown to 15 London locations and continues its nationwide expansion with new restaurants in Brighton and now Bristol. The arrival of Flat Iron adds yet another exciting dining destination to Bristol’s vibrant food scene.
