The Bristol and Bath Cook Book

The Bristol and Bath Cook Book is Meze Publishing’s latest addition to the ‘Get Stuck In’ series. The cook book celebrates the thriving independent food scene in Bristol and Bath, and showcases some of the region’s finest restaurants, bakeries and delis.

As the book features such a wide choice of recipes there is something for everyone to enjoy. From Swedish Cinnamon Buns to the Ultimate Steak, the breadth of recipes in the book truly speaks to the diversity of food options in the region.  Wine merchants and farm shops round out the contributors, ensuring that it’s not just eateries that are celebrated, but all those adding to the region’s buzzing food and drink scene.

Alice and Jo at The Bristol Food Tour are proud to promote this in their business, and they commented:  “We are so chuffed to be featured in this cook book. This book supports everything we are passionate about and gives food lovers a chance to create iconic dishes from Bristol and Bath's thriving indie food scene in their own homes. Our tours bring people together around dishes of fantastic food and we love that this book will enable readers to do this too!”

All of the contributors featured in the book are united by a pride in their local food scene, which lies at the heart of every recipe. Sam Eliott from high end restaurant Pasture puts it like this: “The Bristol and Bath Cook Book celebrates the best of independent restaurants and it’s a pleasure to be featured amongst them.” Championing the flavours of the region, the recipes also experiment with different influences. Korean mung bean kimchi pancakes and Grecian portokalopita to name a few ensure that the recipes in the book are as diverse and enticing as Bristol and Bath themselves.

Sarah Newell from eco-friendly delivery service Good Sixty sums it up: “What we love about the cook book is that it feels equal parts celebratory and informative so that small-scale businesses get their well-deserved spotlight, but readers also come away having learnt something new about the regions’ thriving indie food scenes.”

The Bath and Bristol Cook Book retails at just £14.95 and will be available to purchase from all of the contributors included in the book. You can also get your hands on a copy from smaller independent shops, as well as national book chains such as Waterstones, WH Smiths, and online from Amazon as well as www.mezepublishing.co.uk/shop
