With a new brand unveiled at the end of September, Bristol Beacon is ready to unite all elements of the music charity’s work under one name, inviting everyone to ‘Make Space for Music’ and lay out its vision for the future as a hub for Bristol’s music community.
Bristol Beacon’s upcoming programme will feature live shows that span all genres of music, from lively jazz, Anglo-Ugandan Electronica, warming Indie and amazing folk music.
Bristol Takeover 2021 – Sat 20 Nov from 1pm – 1am
Bristol Takeover is back this November with another free festival celebrating the best bands, DJs, musicians, and the hottest emerging artists Bristol has to offer.
Returning as a live, in-person event that will be simultaneously live streamed to those at home, Bristol Takeover will be packed full of amazing artists including Grove, Langkamer, Jemima Coulter, Samantha Lindo, Griz-O and Sun Spot and a SWU.FM takeover on Bristol Beacon’s Terrace stage.
With 12 hours of back-to-back, brilliant, Bristol live music on offer for completely free entry, this is one not to be missed.

For over 30 years, Yo La Tengo have carved out a niche for themselves as indie rock pioneers. Within this the trio of Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew deliver a boundless sound. Doing everything on their own terms, they have fostered a strong, loyal community around them. Adding to their extensive discography, last year Yo La Tengo released three EPs with the most recent entitled ‘Sleepless Night’.

Bristol’s Ishmael Ensemble are a pioneering force within contemporary UK jazz. With saxophonist and producer Pete Cunningham at the helm, the group fuses mesmerising jazz instrumentals with expansive electronics and dub inflections.
Since their debut album ‘State of Flow’, they’ve continued to go from strength to strength, featuring on renowned jazz imprint Blue Note Records’ ‘Blue Note: Reimagined’, performing Maida Vale sessions, and now gearing up to release their new album ‘Visions of Light’.
