BJF Presents: Jazz in the Loft with Iain Ballamy

BJF’s Jazz in the Loft welcomes award-winning saxophonist and composer Iain Ballamy, joined by pianist Gareth Williams and bassist Nick Pini for an evening of lyrical, contemporary jazz interpretations.

Iain Ballamy, an award-winning saxophonist and composer, is a leading voice in contemporary European jazz, recognised for a warm, lyrical tone and thoughtful phrasing that bridges avant-garde experimentation with melodic accessibility. Listed in the BBC publication 100 Jazz Greats, Ballamy’s career spans major collaborations including Loose Tubes, Bill Bruford’s Earthworks and an enduring partnership with Django Bates.

For this Jazz in the Loft concert, Ballamy is joined by the superb pianist Gareth Williams and exceptional double bassist Nick Pini. The trio draws on music by Bill Evans, Tom Jobim, Harry Warren, the Great American Songbook and select original works, presenting imaginative and contemporary interpretations.
