Let's Talk
Lulu
Lulu is Angela Carter’s bold adaptation of Wedekind’s classic, a provocative gothic exploration of gender, sexuality and projection performed by graduating Bristol School of Acting students.
Dates: 09 Jul 2026 to 11 Jul 2026
German playwright Frank Wedekind’s notorious creation, Lulu, is reborn in Angela Carter’s bold, darkly comic adaptation—a fierce expressionist reimagining that challenges the myth of the femme fatale.
Lulu is muse, monster and fantasy, and those around her reveal their desires and obsessions, drawing closer to their own unravelling. Moving from obscurity into a world of wealth, lust and moral decay, the boundaries between victim and predator dissolve.
Lulu is performed by graduating acting students and supported by Technical Theatre Arts students from Bristol School of Acting.
