A swing and blues evening celebrating Ma Rainey and the sounds of the 1920s–1940s, featuring a renowned jazz ensemble and vocalists.
Rainey’s Revue celebrates classic songs associated with ‘The Mother of the Blues’ Ma Rainey while capturing the sound of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. Led by Richard Exall (tenor sax/clarinet) and musical director Dom Barnett (piano), the ensemble features Sam Kelly on drums and award-winning bassist Marianne Windham, alongside powerful vocals and narration from Chrissie Myles and Emily Windham.
