Winterbourne Wonderland Christmas Display

We’re excited to announce that we've taken our Christmas display to a whole new level, surpassing last year's 20,000 lights with a breathtaking showcase of over 50,000 lights! This accomplishment places us among the largest and most dazzling displays in Bristol.

In our third year of supporting the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity - Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal we've set our sights high and hope to raise £2,500 to bring our overall total raised to £5,000.

But it's not just about the sheer number of lights – we've gone above and beyond to make this year's Winterbourne Wonderland a truly enchanting experience.

We've introduced several unique features that you won't find at your typical Christmas display, such as our magical wishing well that emits colour-changing mist, a captivating 3ft water fountain that showcases a spectrum of colours, and an enchanting forest-themed area, all alongside our beloved North Pole section and Nativity scene. And to immerse visitors fully in the Christmas spirit, we're even experimenting with infusing the air with the delightful scents of gingerbread, cinnamon, and other Christmassy aromas.

But the magic doesn't stop there. We've hidden ten mischievous elf on the shelf characters throughout the display, waiting for visitors to spot their playful antics. Kids will delight in receiving free candy canes and stickers to add to their holiday joy. Additionally, our bubble machine will surprise and delight visitors with spontaneous bursts of bubbly fun. Train enthusiasts will be delighted by our 1ft festive Santa train encircling our 13ft pixel tree.

The grand unveiling of our enchanting display takes place on November 25th and November 26th, starting at 18:00, with the switch-on at 18:30 on both nights. We've planned two switch-on events to accommodate the large number of visitors we expect, and to serve as a contingency plan in case of inclement weather. We will have amazing entertainment and food/drinks on offer at our switch on event.

Throughout December, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from the 1st to the 24th, we'll set the festive mood with beloved Christmas music favourites playing between 17:30 and 19:30. To add to the magic, our 43ft pixel wall and 13ft pixel tree will flash in harmony with the music.

Our spectacular light display will be illuminated every day from November 27th to January 1st, welcoming visitors from 16:00pm to 21:00pm. It's a splendid opportunity to experience the magic of the season in a breathtaking and festive setting all whilst helping a worthy cause.

Donations can be made at the display via Contactless card payment, as well as cash donations into our secure wishing well or secure collection box, or online via Just Giving.

Finally, we’re still looking for prizes for our prize draw and for sponsors to help with us with the running costs of the display, which costs hundreds of pounds each year, not including buying the lights or electricity costs. If you may be able to help, please get in touch.
