Bristol's Jenny Jones Becomes Team GB's First Olympic Snow Medallist
Snowboarder Jenny Jones made Olympic history over the weekend after winning Great Britain's first-ever medal on snow.
The 33-year-old snowboarder from Downend near Bristol, accomplished what no other Briton had done before, scooping the slopestyle bronze.
Jones's score of 87.25 had initially put her at the top of the leader board however she was overtaken by Finland's Enni Rukajarvi (92.50), who took silver, and gold medallist Jamie Anderson (95.25).
The 33-year-old, who was the oldest competitor in the final couldn't contain her excitement when Anna Gasser failed to beat her score and her bronze medal was confirmed.
Jones took to Twitter to express her delight, tweeting "Aaahhhhhh !! Did I just get bronze at the friggin Olympics!!" (sic).

The Olympian is no stranger to the medallist's podium having previously earned a silver medal during the World Cup in New Zealand and multiple gold medals at the X Games.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Jones said "It's still sinking in, the history part. Hopefully I'll be in a few pub quizzes now."
