Bristol independent, Spoke & Stringer extends opening hours following expansion

Independent restaurant, deli and retailer, Spoke & Stringer will extend the opening hours of their Whiteladies Road store to launch a new casual evening food and drink offering in February 2020.

Following on from the successful launch of their second branch at Clifton Down Shopping Centre last year, the new location will now offer quesadillas, tapas & cocktails from 6pm.

Perfectly suited for after work drinks or a pre-cinema bite to eat, the new evening menu will focus on using locally sourced, fresh ingredients to create dishes that encourage sharing.

Kristian Crews, founder of Spoke & Stringer: “Inspired by cuisines from South American & European coastal regions, the Spoke & Stringer kitchen team have created a menu that is focused on seasonality and simplicity, with flavour combinations and ingredients that everyone can enjoy. Quesadillas form the centre-piece of the evening menu, complemented by some of our favourite Tapas plates served at our Harbourside Restaurant and some new creations, with plenty of dishes that are vegan and gluten-free friendly.”

The food offering will be paired with a new evening drinks menu, featuring refreshing house cocktails, a full wine list, local craft beers and Spoke & Stringer’s own cold pressed juices.

The Harbourside restaurant will reopen for a one-night-only themed evening for Valentine’s Day offering two courses for £20, including a complimentary glass of rose prosecco on arrival. The banquet style set menu begins with a sharing plate of seasonal pintxos, including gazpacho shooters, arancini and beetroot gravadlax will be served to start. This will be followed by a second course of sharing dishes including pan-fried seabass with stuffed courgettes, heritage tomatoes and red wine infused quinoa, spinach, new potatoes and tahini dressing.

The Harbourside Restaurant will resume its daytime Brunch service seven days a week at the end of March, along with the reopening of the evening offering at its picturesque location ready for the spring / summer season.

As well as working with local producers and suppliers such as De Gusta, Hobbs House Bakery, Pistrina Bakery, Origin Butchers and The Good Egg Company, the team at Spoke & Stringer now runs a restaurant, deli and lifestyle apparel shop on Bristol’s Harbour and a combined deli, restaurant and shop at Clifton Down Shopping Centre. The menus and product collections are carefully curated to help customers fuel their lifestyles, lift spirits and escape from the daily grind.
