Original Pancake Recipe

Shrove Tuesday is upon us, so we thought we’d give you a little helping hand cause we’re all guilty of forgetting how to make them!
Classic Pancakes:
Ingredients –
- 110g of plain flour
- Pinch of salt
- 200ml of whole milk
- 2 eggs
- 50g of butter
Equipment needed –
- Bowl
- Whisk
- 2 Measuring jugs
- Scales
- Frying pan
- Tablespoon
- Sieve
Method –
- Sieve the flour and salt into a bowl.
- Then mix 100ml of water together along with the milk.
- After that, gently crack the 2 eggs into the bowl and begin whisking.
- Then add the milk and water mixture into the bowl whisking as you go.
- Once the batter is smooth and there are no bits left, leave it to rest for 30 minutes.
- Now, whisk the butter into the batter.
- Then get out a frying pan and grease it using some butter and put it over a medium heat.
- Put 2 tablespoons of batter into the pan, ensuring it evenly covers the pan.
- Then cook the pancake for about 60 seconds until golden brown.
- And flip the pancake over and cook the other side for a further 30 seconds or until it freckles.
- Then the final and most exciting step is to slide the pancake onto your plate and start topping it with your favourites.
