For April’s wine pick, the guys at Novel Wines are taking us on a journey back to the origins of wine. Georgia is one of the world’s oldest wine-producing regions. In Kakheti, the Tbilvino winery is making delicious wines from indigenous, ancient varieties like this Saperavi.

Saperavi is a dry, fruity red wine with strong aromas of cherry, vanilla and almonds that turn into a rich and warming flavour of mulberries. The wine is medium bodied, so a perfect choice for Spring, and it’s also a surprisingly good pairing with chocolate for Easter!
