Book Review: The Glaswegian

This is an outstanding debut novel by local author Kenny Adamson.

The Glaswegian is the first book in a trilogy featuring Sandy MacLeod.  Following the murder of his beautiful, pregnant wife, Sandy MacLeod (the Glaswegian) reeks horrifying revenge on the twin brothers he suspects carried out the atrocity.  He then flees to London and joins the Army and is selected for the Intelligence Service.  An intriguing tale of adventures rapidly follow as he is posted to Pakistan to help the Mujahideen fight the Russians.  Here he meets and befriends the young Osama Bin Laden and the story further unfolds, involving assignments to Afghanisan and travels to Tanzania before eventually returning to his native Scotland.

I will not delve too deeply into the plot so as not to give away the many incidents along the way - you`ll have to read it for yourselves to find out and I promise you a thrilling, unexpected literary journey.

This was an enthralling tale of espionage, adventure, retribution and suspense with a very satisfying conclusion to the first of a trilogy - can`t wait for Parts 2 and 3 and strongly recommend this read to our Total Guide readers.
