Let's Talk
How To Create Your Survival Kit
Each of us can suddenly find ourselves in an unusual or dangerous situation, and there is also increasing talk of the possibility of sudden, prolonged failures of the heating or power grid. The art of survival is all about preparing for such events, by preparing a set of useful tools and accessories in advance. If we are going to a remote area such as the mountains or a forest, it is also good practice to have such a survival kit on us. The survival kit can also be called an EDC kit, airsoft equipment, military or outdoor equipment because the main principle is very similar - it’s survival in difficult conditions.
Example of a basic survival kit
Survival kits usually differ in their content because a given set may have a different purpose, but most of them have common elements that are repeated. During airsoft games, the same elements will certainly be useful as during typical survival, camping trips, forest hikes, or surviving in the urban jungle. The main equipment of most kits is a first aid kit, which should contain wound dressings, disinfectants, NRC foil, painkillers, and medicines for chronic diseases of the owner of the kit.
The basic survival kit should also include additional space for matches/lighter or flint to start a fire. Small pocket knives with different tips are a universal gadget that works in many situations, same goes for a very sharp tactical knife. A needle and thread, scotch tape, and a flashlight can also be very useful.
What else can it contain?
Survival kits can consist of many other accessories. Their content depends on the situation in which such a kit may be helpful. When going to the mountains or to the forest, it is worth taking a compass, a map, a water treatment kit, high-energy food, spare batteries, a rope or string, and a power bank. In such situations, tactical accessories, such as tactical gloves or hydration systems that protect against injuries, also work very well. A whistle may seem like an out-of-place element of a survival kit, but it can be a life saver when you get lost and want to get the attention of emergency services. Finally, it is worth mentioning how to efficiently store the set we've created. A waterproof bag or organizer is the best way to do this, thanks to which everything will be easily accessible in one place.
