Top Tips For Choosing the Best Christmas Tree

Picking out a Christmas tree is one of the most classic Christmas traditions there is. With these tips for choosing the optimal real Christmas tree and keeping it looking good for as long as possible, you'll have the best Christmas tree around!

Know exactly what you want

Each tree species is a little different, so to find the best Christmas tree for your family, you need to match it to the needs and wants of your household. For example, if you have children, you might lean toward pines or firs with soft needles instead of spruce trees, which have sharp needles that can hurt when you step on them. You cannot go to a tree farm and buy a tree if you don't know exactly what you want or need so think about this before you go!

Check the tree's freshness

First, check the trunk of the tree. The trunk should have a slight stickiness to it. The needles should look shiny, green, and fresh and not dry or brown. They should not fall off when you pull on a branch.

Measure

There's nothing worse than picking out the best Christmas tree on the lot, getting it home, and finding out it's too tall for your room. Before you leave home, measure both your ceiling height and the height of your Christmas tree stand so you don't have to recut the tree when you get home.

Look for even coverage

There is nothing worse than finding a stunning tree but seeing that it doesn't have even coverage or colours or branches, so make sure when you choose your tree to check all over before commiting to it! Some types of Christmas trees will go from deep, rich green to a dull gray-green if they get too dried out.

Tree Type

Evergreen trees with shorter needles (such as Fraser or Noble Fir) are often easier to decorate than others, as they offer some space between branches for decorations as well as some stronger stems to hold heavier ornaments.

Decide where you want the tree

Before leaving to go and choose your tree, you need to make sure you havwe decided where exactly you want the tree to go so that this can make you decision easier and filter down some trees that may be too big or too small for the area you're choosing it for!
