On Sunday June 15th students from Year 7 & 8 of Bedminster Down School and Ashton Park School will be in full swing for their abseil challenge in the Avon Gorge. This exacting challenge has been put together to raise money for their library building project in Tanzania.
The Schools have collaborated to take 50 pupils to Tanzania later this month. Due to political unrest in Kenya, and changes in location, it has meant additional fundraising is needed to take place for the schools to successfully build a library for a Tanzanian school.
The students will be taking on the fundraising abseil in one of the most picturesque locations in the UK. There will be a BBQ throughout the course of the day so if you are able to come down to support the participants, or have a look, refreshments will be available. With each abseiler raising a minimum of £30 the school hope to raise a significant amount of money to help build a Library for a secondary school in Arusha, Tanzania when students from Year 10 visit Africa later this month. In addition to this the student who raises the most money will be awarded with a Kindle Fire (donated by Computerworld Wales Ltd).
