Bristol really does have it all when it comes to food, views and shopping, but the only thing we're missing is the delights of a beach on those lovely summer days. Fortunately though, there are plenty of beaches practically on our doorstep! So that's why we've listed all the best nearby beaches below...

Clevedon Beach

About: Clevedon Beach is situated on the Somerset coast overlooking the Bristol Channel. It is a beautiful sand and pebble beach, approximately 850 metres wide. There is a marine lake at the beach which is filled by sea water on high tides which is perfect for those wild swimmers. You can certainly enjoy a lovely day out with the kids by the seaside as well as have the chance to take a stroll along the promenade and check out the entertainment that the pier offers.

About: Weston-super-mare boasts one of the longest naturally occurring beaches in the UK. This isn't just a popular beach, they also have their iconic Grand Pier, where you'll find everything from arcade machines and thrilling rides to a relaxing traditional afternoon tea in the Edwardian-style tea rooms!

About: Uphill is a small village at the southern end of Weston's promenade, and it's a great day out if you don't fancy the hustle and bustle of the main seafront. Its wide, open beach is hugely popular with dog walkers and is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely stroll. This is a popular beach for Kitesurfing and windsurfing as you can park on the beach and set up safely.

About: Brean is a seven mile stretch of sand running to Burnham-on-Sea. It has extensive tidal flats favoured by walkers and beach sports enthusiasts. It is the perfect setting for your trip to the seaside. With miles of sandy beach, there’s plenty of open space to enjoy. You really can cherish a family day out building sandcastles, playing beach games and paddling in the sea.
